Here is my preliminary task, my college magazine. The skills I had on photoshop and other IT programmes when I produced this were very basic and I needed help to make this front cover. I tried to make the cover lines on the front stand out from the background so I decided black would be the best colour, although this is a very broing colour for a magazine. Now I have developed my skills and have done a lot of practice and research I have learnt that the background wasn't good as it takes peoples attention away from the important information on the front cover. The text on the bottom right also doesn't show up very well so I made sure that when I made my final front cover I knew I had to make the text more appealing and noticeable. The image is also not very effective as there is too much colour on the person and too much detail. This takes people's attention away from the person and more on what they are wearing. The image in the cover lines also doesn't suit the front cover as again it has too much colour.
